$750,000 Bond Set For Suspect In Enfield Sexual Assault Case
He befriended the victim via social media and in-person contact, gaining the trust of the victim's family over an extended period of time.

ENFIELD, CT — A Massachusetts man is being held in lieu of $750,000 bond after being charged with sexual assault and risk of injury to a child Wednesday, according to police.
Derrick Gaither, 59, whose last known address was in West Springfield, faces second- and fourth-degree sexual assault charges, in addition to the risk of injury count, in connection with a case in Enfield involving a juvenile, police said.
Gaither had befriended the victim via social media and in-person contact, gaining the trust of the victim's family over an extended period of time. He then used that trust to exploit the victim, police said.
