Susan (Bonneau) Ahern, 78, beloved wife of the late Claude Roy; and Maurice “Bill” Ahern Jr., passed away peacefully on June 11, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Susan spent many years in Hartford before making Enfield her home. She found great joy in tending to her garden and was a devoted reader, always eager to learn and explore through the pages of a good book. A nurturing and dedicated caregiver, Susan operated her own home daycare for many years, creating a warm and loving environment for countless children. Her gentle spirit, patience, and kindness left a lasting impact on many families.

Omer Bourgault, 90, husband of 60 years of Nadine Bourgault, passed away peacefully at home in Keene, N..H, on June 9, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. In the early 1950s, he moved to Willimantic, later moving to Enfield, where he spent the majority of his life. He was a machinist for over 40 years and enjoyed the precision of the work. During the last ten years of his working life, he was employed as a maintenance man by Signature Aviation at Bradley Airport. He had a passion, and never-ending knowledge, for all things World War II. He was also very involved in the Boy Scouts when his sons were young. His greatest hobby in life was metal detecting. Every year, he could not wait for the big spring thaw, so he could finally dig up treasures.

Gerard Grzebien, 69, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2025 with his family by his side. A proud graduate of Enfield High School, he spent much of his working life with Economy Electric in Manchester, with ACME Auto and finally retiring from CAP Auto in Springfield, where he was known for his reliability, work ethic and good humor. Gerard found joy in simple pleasures - sharing dinners with family and friends, attending classic car shows and caring for his cherished Chevy Chevelle. An avid car enthusiast and talented photographer, he was also passionate about travel and cherished his visits with friends across California, Arizona and Texas.

Jerry Nai Sr., 93, beloved husband of the late Shirley (Mather) Nai, entered into peace on June 8, 2025. During his youth, he was a running back for Enfield High School football. Shortly thereafter, he took the oath and served his country. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, having enlisted into the Second Infantry and served for two years during the Korean War (1952-1954). Afterward he spent a career working at Hallmark before retirement, where he made many lifelong connections. In retirement, he relished time spent with his family and eating at any decent Italian stops - ust as long as they didn’t skimp the sauce on the pizza. If you were lucky to know him, you were lucky to have some of his famous chicken cacciatore.

Michael Van Nostrand, 67, beloved husband of Laurie (Bajek) Van Nostrand, passed away peacefully at home on June 11, 2025, surrounded by his loving family after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He grew up in Enfield and remained a lifelong member of the community. Michael retired in 2023 after 35 years as a machinist and materials handler in the shipping and receiving department at the Kamatics division of Kaman Aerospace, where he was known for his strong work ethic and easygoing spirit. He had a gift for building things — and for bringing joy into everyday moments. Whether he was woodworking, creating masterpieces out of LEGO bricks, or crafting model cars, ships, and tanks, he found satisfaction in the details.
