Allen, Gottlieb, Harris, Santilli, White: Recent Death Notices From Enfield

ENFIELD, CT — Here are some recent death notices from Enfield.

Dorothy (Churchill) Allen, 94, beloved wife of the late Stuart Allen, entered into eternal peace on April 25, 2025. A lifelong learner and advocate, she earned her Bachelor’s degree from Brown University and her Master’s in psychological social work from Boston University. She began her career in social work with the Connecticut Veterans Administration before serving as Director of Enfield Social Services, a position she held for over 40 years. Her commitment to the community extended further as a founding member of the Enfield Juvenile Review Board, where she faithfully served for 57 years. She also gave her time to causes close to her heart, volunteering with the East Windsor Trolley Museum and participating in the Enfield Historical Society.

Betty Jo (Letlow) Gottlieb, 88, beloved wife of 66 years to Robert Gottlieb, passed away with her family by her side on April 27, 2025. Betty Jo dedicated her early years to raising her daughters as a stay-at-home mother, later working at Hickory Farms and Water and Air Waterbeds. Together with Robert, she cherished the simple joys of life. They loved to square dance at the Powder Hollow Barn, sharing laughter and fellowship with friends. She also found great joy in crafting, playing cards and creating magical holiday celebrations.

June (Walker) Harris, 83, beloved wife of James Harris, peacefully passed away on April 27, 2025. A longtime resident of Enfield, June was a dedicated member of the Faith Baptist Church community, where she was well-known for her warm spirit and her incredible baking. Her faith and her family were the cornerstones of her life, and she poured her heart into both. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother and caring sister.

Kimberly (Gamble) Santilli, 62, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2025, beside her loving husband, John. She graduated from Enrico Fermi High School in Enfield, Class of 1980,then worked as an email engineer at The Hartford, where she met John. She retired in 2012 after nearly 30 years of service. She loved wolves, racing, reading and gardening, growing beautiful flowers every spring in her yard, where she also fed her beloved birds. Kim worked for several years in the Lime Rock Driver’s Club, eventually becoming the president.

Geraldine (Jackson) White, 89, of Suffield, formerly of Enfield, beloved wife of the late Donald White, was called home to be with the Lord on April 24, 2025. She dedicated many years of service to the American Red Cross, and was a loving and devoted wife, mother and friend. A woman of deep and abiding faith, Geraldine was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church in Windsor Locks since 1987. She joyfully played the piano for services and was devoted to ministering in local nursing homes.
