Bus Drivers In Enfield, Windsor Locks, East Windsor Receive Special Emergency Training
A special session which instructed bus drivers on safety tips and how to handle emergency situations was provided Monday in Enfield.

ENFIELD, CT — School classes for the 2025-26 academic year began Tuesday in Windsor Locks and East Windsor, and Thursday in Enfield. Parents and guardians whose children utilize public school transportation can rest a bit easier in the event of a bus crisis arising, as drivers received some specialized emergency training earlier this week from local firefighters.
Four work stations were set up Monday on the grounds of the Enfield Fire Department on Weymouth Road, with drivers from the Smyth Bus Co. learning about various aspects of emergency services. One station contained an overturned bus, a bus filled with smoke and instructions on proper operation of a fire extinguisher.
Another station offered instruction in first aid, including CPR, seizures, nosebleeds and other medical situations. Station 3 focused on drugs, alcohol, weapons and intruder awareness, including signs of an overdose or intoxication, as well as clues to abuse and human trafficking. The final station contained emergency contact forms, driver information and other essential paperwork.
