Cote, Dedonis, McCarthy, Morse, Murcier, Pappas: Recent Death Notices From Enfield

ENFIELD, CT — Here are some recent death notices from Enfield.

Lauren Cote, 31, passed away unexpectedly on April 13, 2025. Lauren will be remembered for her deep compassion, bright spirit and the way she made others feel seen and cared for. She had a heart for helping those who were down and out, always offering kindness and support to anyone in need. She had a special love for animals, especially cats, and her furry companion Sophie was always by her side.

Rose (Jutras) Dumoulin Cote, 92, entered into eternal rest on April 3, 2025. Rose was the beloved widow of Gerard Dumoulin of six years and Romeo Cote of 61 years. She was the last survivor of 13 children. In her leisure time, she enjoyed golfing with her husband and sons, and snow birding in Dade City, Florida with her sisters. Rose was a faithful communicant of St. Martha Church.

Anne Dedonis, 45, of Windsor, passed away unexpectedly on April 12, 2025. She was raised in Enfield and graduated from Enrico Fermi High School. She received her Bachelor's Degree from Westfield State University and was employed as a retail associate with various retail stores over the years. Anne had a quiet nature about her, but was never afraid to weigh in and give her opinion when it mattered to her. She faced many of life's challenges with courage and dignity and always kept her sense of humor. Anne had a smile that would light up the room and was known for having "the best hair in the family."

Steven McCarthy, 61, passed away unexpectedly on April 17, 2025. After graduating from Enfield High School in 1981, Steven joined the U.S. Army, where he also served overseas in Germany. He was employed by Pratt & Whitney for many years and finished his career with SHP Management as a superintendent. He loved live music events, meeting a wide group of friends, where you could see Steven and Jodie to be the first ones out on the dance floor.

Dana Morse, 51, of Enfield, beloved husband of Michelle (Brindle) Morse, passed away unexpectedly on April 10, 2025, as a result of complications from a recent accident. He was born in Middletown, raised in Higganum and attended Haddam-Killingworth High School. He followed in his father’s footsteps and after an apprenticeship, became a journeyman lineman for IBEW Local 42. Quality time with his family was cherished, especially at "the cottage" on Great Diamond Island in Maine, where they would cook together, boiling freshly caught lobsters, grilling and making sauce.

Bertha (Hardgrove) Murcier, 78, of Enfield, entered into eternal life on April 11, 2025. She grew up with her true love and soulmate, Michael Murcier, who predeceased her three years ago. Happily married for over 60 years, they started their lives together in Baltimore before moving to Windsor Locks and later residing in Enfield, where they enjoyed beautiful lake views in their retirement. Bertha started her career as a hairdresser until raising a family. She started a floral business, The Flower Castle, in Windsor Locks, where she creatively served her community for almost 20 years.

Dr. Gus Pappas, 93, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on April 19, 2025 surrounded by family. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served as a member of the Occupational Forces in Germany during the Korean War. He attended Tufts Dental School and graduated with high honors in 1963 with a doctorate in Medical Dentistry. He married the love of his life, Margaret Molinski, in 1962, and they shared 62 years together. Gus was the founder of Pappas Family Dentistry in 1963 and proudly served his hometown of Enfield for 49 years.
