ENFIELD, CT — A truck carrying a mounted crane struck an overpass on Interstate 91 northbound Thursday morning, knocking down a large metal sign and disrupting traffic for hours, according to state police.

Around 9:12 a.m., the crane boom, mounted to a Kenworth T800 truck, struck the Route 190 bridge overpass, causing the sign to fall and damaging metal and concrete bridge supports, state police said.

Engineers from the Connecticut Department of Transportation arrived at the scene to begin an inspection, and state police began an investigation. Minor injuries were reported, state police said.
