ENFIELD, CT — As Connecticut endured its third day of recovery in the wake of Tropical Storm Isaias Tuesday, many residents of Enfield remain in the dark, though progress is being made, as more than 26 percent of the town's homes are still without power.

An update from Eversource Energy at 8 a.m. Thursday showed 6,097 Enfield homes still without electricity. By 11 p.m., that number had dropped to 5,198 homes.

At its peak Wednesday, a total of 8,680 Enfield customers were out of power. About 35 roads were either fully or partially closed due to storm damage, and several traffic lights at key intersections were inoperational.

As a safety measure, a traffic light not working does not mean drivers have free reign to run right through it. Instead, the rules which apply to stop signs at a 4-way intersection are in effect.
