ENFIELD, CT - A busy state road which is the only direct route from Enfield into East Longmeadow is currently closed. Downed wires on Walker Drive, adjacent to Department of Correction property, caused police to close Taylor Road, also known as Route 220, at the top of the hill on Shaker Road around 8:30 a.m. Friday. Motorists heading to East Longmeadow must turn down Bacon Road to North Maple Street into Longmeadow. Another option is to pass the prisons into Somers and turn left at the end of Bilton Road, across from the Monticello mansion at Hillsdale College.
