Enfield Celebrates Graduates Of UCONN Extension Spanish PEP Program

Graduates used their new skills to create a plan to secure 15 trees to be donated to the Town of Enfield.

Last Monday, UCONN Extension’s PEP program celebrated the graduates of Class #6. Spanish PEP (People Empowering People), in partnership with KITE and the Enfield Public Schools, elevates voices by empowering individuals through community-based parent leadership training. PEP builds on the unique strengths and life experiences of the participants.

The program emphasizes the connection between individuals and community action. Members of the Town Council, Town management, Enfield Public Schools, UCONN and KITE were on site to celebrate the reveal of the final class project.

Graduates used their new skills to create a plan to secure 15 trees to be donated to the Town of Enfield.

In this process, members had to present to Town Council for approval of the concept, collaborate with Buildings and Grounds and recruited family and friends to plant the new trees around the playground at Higgins Park.
