Asnuntuck's Summer College of Technology for Teens program was open to students entering or completing seventh and eighth grades.
ENFIELD, CT - Asnuntuck Community College's Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center, for the fifth year held their free Summer College of Technology for Teens program. The program was available to male and female students either entering or just completing 7th or 8th grade. Students learned the various steps in manufacturing, while having a hands-on experience creating a take-home project for themselves. The teens had their face scanned and reproduced on a 3-D printer, they used SolidWorks to design, then 3-D print a metal framework. They also milled a base plate. They learned about electronics when they assembled and soldered electrical components which enabled their final project to light up. The college offered it three different weeks.
