Enfield Mom Is 'The Best Role Model We Could Ever Have,' Kids Say

ENFIELD, CT— Moms do so much for everyone around them. We try to celebrate them all year long, but Mother's Day is a perfect opportunity to shout it from the rooftops and post it on Patch: Mom rocks!

Here at Patch we've launched an initiative to help recognize the awesome moms and mom figures in communities like yours.

What makes your Mom extra special?

Our mom works extra hard to be there for us and make sure we have the best life possible. She's a single mom who fights hard to achieve her own dreams but still makes time to cook a family dinner, help with homework and bring us to all our extra activities. One of the best things about our mom is that she teaches us all kinds of life skills and takes us on amazing trips when she can. She wants us to experience history and culture so that we can be successful in life. No matter what, our mom is always there for us. She's had several bumps in life, but she gets back up and keeps going. She's the best role model we could ever have.

Why do you feel your Mom deserves the spotlight?

She's had a lot of tough times but recently she had cancer and it was bad. Our mom wanted to give up some days but she didn't. We think that it's nice to let her know that she's appreciated and loved. She's always there for us and we want to show her we are also there for her.
