Enfield Police, Feds Teaming Up To Host High-Level Drone Exercise
Federal, state and municipal authorities will be staging a public drone training exercise in Enfield next month.

ENFIELD, CT — Enfield is hosting a high-level training exercise with drones next month.
On Friday April 4, the Enfield Police Department, in conjunction with Transportation Security Administration officials, as well as a host of additional federal, state and local law enforcement partner agencies, will be conducting UAV (drone) training exercises at the Enfield Annex.
Enfield Police Chief Alaric Fox said the purpose of the exercise is to allow law enforcement personnel to observe, photograph and videotape nighttime comparison images of UAVs versus manned aircraft that will be in their ordinary flight paths over the area.

Preparation for the exercise is expected to begin at approximately 6:30 p.m. with UAV flights beginning at 8 p.m., Fox said.
All activity should conclude by 11 p.m., he added.

Members of the public are welcome to attend and observe the events. The public will be directed to park either in the lot adjacent to the traffic circle at the main entrance to the annex, or at the lot outside door 5. After parking, attendees may walk to the bleachers to observe the activities.
