The Enfield Recreation Departments Fall/Winter program information is now available here. The Department has a wide variety of programs this fall/winter that range from classes for preschool, youth, teen and adults, special events, drop in programs and much more! Registration for Enfield Residents begins on Friday, September 16th at 9:00 AM. Non-Resident Registration begins Friday, September 23rd at 9:00 AM. Spaces are limited and fill quickly so register early!
Dolphins Swim Team

The Dolphins Swim Team is hosted by the Enfield Recreation Department for boys and girls ages 5-18 years old. The team swims at the Fermi High School Pool, 124 North Maple Street in Enfield. The coaching staff believes that it is important to teach the strokes correctly to the swimmers in a way that is developmentally appropriate while giving them ample opportunities to practice what they have learned. The focus is on improving strokes and times while having fun and being part of a team. We will not take any additional registrations for new or returning swimmers after Friday, October 28th at 5:00 PM
Returning Swimmer Registration: A limited number of spots are available for this program. It is highly recommended that you register early to ensure a spot in the program. Participation in previous seasons does not guarantee a spot. Registration begins on Friday, August 26th at 9AM for Enfield residents and Friday, September 9th at 9AM for Non-Residents.
New Swimmer Evaluations are held to make sure that swimmers are safe in the water and ready to be on swim team. Evaluations for new swimmers will be held on September 20 & 21, 5:30 - 6:30 PM at the Fermi Pool. Those interested in joining the swim team must attend one of the two try-out nights. Those trying out will need to bring their bathing suits to demonstrate skills to the coaches. A minimum skill & endurance level is required to participate in the program. Parents will also be provided with information about the team, time commitment, required fees and more. New swimmers cannot register until after they tryout.
Enfield Youth Basketball League
The 2016-2017 EYBL information is now available online for viewing at www.enfield-ct.gov/recreation on the Recreation Department homepage. Registration will begin on Friday, September 23rd at 9:00 am. The registration deadline for grades 3-12 is Friday, October 7, 2016. To guarantee placement on a team you must register and pay in full by the deadline. This program is for Enfield residents only. Fee is $90.00 per player.
Adult Open Gym Basketball Information
The Enfield Recreation Department hosts Open Gym Basketball time for adults 20 and over. Participants must show proof of age and residency to participate in addition to having a program waiver on at the gym. The program will be held October 3 – March 26, check website for no program dates. Daily fee is $2.00 for residents and $2.50 for non-residents.
20 & Over: Mondays, 6:00 – 9:00 PM at JFK Middle School
30 and Over: Wednesday, 6:00 – 9:00 PM at JFK Middle School
40 and Over: Saturdays, 8:00 – 11:00 AM at the Angelo Lamagna Activity Center
Playgroup
This is a great chance for you and your child to meet other families in Enfield and share experiences and first hand secrets of raising children. Your child will be able to explore, learn and play with educational toys and games while moms, dads or caregivers have the chance to socialize. Playgroup is an ongoing program, so registration is NOT necessary, however you must be an Enfield resident to participate. Please note that a participant waiver must be on file with the instructor which can be filled out the first day you attend. There is no play group when school is delayed or closed due to weather. The program runs Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, October 3 – December 23 from 9:30 AM- 11:00 AM at the Angelo Lamagna Activity Center. There is no cost for this program.
Yoga
Do you want to release some stress and live a healthier lifestyle this fall? If so, this is the perfect class for you. Yoga will bring balance, breath awareness, stamina, and flexibility to the body and mind. Students will be able to work at their own level, modifying poises as needed. Participants are encouraged to bring a yoga mat to class. Classes will be held Tuesdays, October 11 – December 13 from 6:15 PM- 7:30 PM at Parkman School. Fee is $37.50 for Residents/ $47.00 for Non-Residents. Pre-Registration is required.
October Craft Class
Join the Enfield Recreation Department for our monthly craft class. October’s class will get you ready for Halloween! Participants will create a Halloween Scene and a 3D Haunted House. Fee includes all supplies and materials. Class will be held Saturday, October 22nd 9:30 – 10:30 AM and is $2.00 per person. Pre-registration is required as spaces are limited. Tiny-Hawks Multi-Sport Programs
A multisport program for ages 3 & 4 years old. Participants will learn the fundamentals of Soccer and Basketball. Skills will be taught in a safe, structured environment with lots of encouragement and a big focus on fun. Classes are held on Tuesdays, October 11 – November 8th, 5:00 – 5:50 PM. Fee is $70.00 Residents/$80.00 Non-Residents. Pre-registration is required for this program. Registration can be done online or in person at the Recreation office. Spaces are limited and fill quickly. Don’t delay, register today.

Babysitter Safety Course 101
This program is an entry level course for youth ages 10 – 15 years old. Participants will learn age appropriate skills necessary to care for children of all ages using team babysitting, mother’s helper, and individual babysitting concepts. All participants will receive a CD-book, handouts and a Babysitter Safety Certificate. Class will be held on Wednesday, December 28th, 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM at Angelo Lamagna Activity Center, 19 North Main Street, Enfield, CT. Fee is $46 Resident/$57.50 Non-Resident. Pre-registration is required for this program. Registration can be done online or in person at the Recreation office. Spaces are limited and fill quickly. Don’t delay, register today.
