“We are finally at the point where we are ready to adopt the Plan, which will guide the Town’s development for the next 10 years,” said Mayor Bob Cressotti. “The consultant, Don Poland, will be in attendance as well, who will be able to speak to the inclusion of state law requirements especially on the housing front.”

“The Plan of Conservation and Development had a citizen led Steering Committee that worked for over 2 years on the Plan. It was impacted by the pandemic, and is now at the end of the process,” said Deputy Mayor Gina Cekala. “There are 13 chapters divided into various topics such as our town’s cultural landscape, commercial and industrial development; housing, Thompsonville as well as our role in the region.”

“A lot of work has gone into this Plan, and we need to make sure the public is aware of what the Plan calls for, and that all boards and commissions buy into it,” said Council Minority Leader Ken Nelson. “I hope that we have a good turnout at the meeting, so everyone is aware of where we are going.”

The Plan may be accessed online at www.enfield-ct.gov by choosing Departments/Planning and Zoning, and then navigating to the left menu bar to select the POCD. For reference, the previous 2011 Plan is also on the menu bar. Hard copies of the Plan are also available for perusal at the Central Library and the Pearl St. Library.
