Enfield Woman A Selfless Mom, Sacrifices So Kids Won't Have To

ENFIELD, CT— Moms do so much for everyone around them. We try to celebrate them all year long, but Mother's Day is a perfect opportunity to shout it from the rooftops and post it on Patch: Mom rocks!

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize the awesome moms and mom figures in communities like yours.

What makes your Mom extra special?

What makes my mom special is that she’s always last, she always puts everyone else first in everything she does. When it’s time to eat, she always serves herself last, which usually means that she gets the least amount, but she never complains. She chose to raise her 4 nieces after her sister could no longer care for them, alongside 2 boys of her own. She’ll always put the best clothes and shoes on her children and gladly walk another year in a pair that are long past their prime. She doesn’t have days off because there's always something to do, but she always finds time for her family and that’s why I think she is the best mom.

Why do you feel your Mom deserves the spotlight?

Because who deserves the spotlight more than the person always willing to help everyone else shine?
