Flour Causes White Powder Scare at Eli Whitney

Officials have determined that a "white powdery substance" found Friday at Eli Whitney Elementary School after normal school hours was flour, WVIT reports.

Staff were asked to leave the building Friday afternoon when a white powdery substance was found on a rug outside the school's main office, according to the Hartford Courant.

The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) confirmed that the substance was in fact flour, according to WVIT.
