Stolen Car Crashes On I-91 After Enfield Police Deflate Tires; Gun Found In Vehicle

Authorities said that the vehicle was stolen in Massachusetts.

ENFIELD, CT — A stolen vehicle fleeing police Thursday night crashed along Interstate 91 in Enfield after officers deflated the vehicle's tires, according to Enfield Police Chief Alaric J. Fox.

Police said that at around 8:30 p.m., officers identified a vehicle reported stolen from Massachusetts. When officers attempted to stop the car on Elm Street, the driver took off, authorities said.

As the vehicle entered Interstate 91 southbound, officers deployed a tire-deflation device. The suspect vehicle later crashed while attempting to exit the highway at Exit 47W, police said.

Three people ran from the crash scene on foot. One suspect, identified as a juvenile, was taken into custody. Police are on the lookout for the other suspects, authorities say.

Police also said that a gun was found inside the vehicle.
