ENFIELD, CT — So ... how can one of the most complete specialty retail outlets for a popular team sport be so hidden?

That's because the business is tucked at the far end of a very loooooong building.

Welcome to DK's Hockey Shop at the Enfield Twin Rinks complex. The official address is 1 Prior Road, Enfield.

Staff members of DK's call themselves "the hockey guys," and that's exactly what they are. The shop has a wide assortment of pro gear like pads, sticks, skates (even used), jerseys, and a plethora of accessories.

Speaking of accessories, DK's has a large supply of the always-needed replacement mouthguard because they seem to get chewed to a pulp or lost everywhere — at the bottom of the equipment bag, tucked inside a sock or a helmet, kicked under the bench and even dropped at the blue line during an over-zealous power play.

The shop will sharpen and customize skates.

Team apparel includes most area club ice hockey teams and even Somers field hockey.
