ENFIELD, CT — More than 5 inches of rain pelted Enfield late Wednesday night into Thursday, as the remnants of Hurricane Ida left their calling card in not only the usual trouble spots in town, but other sites as well.

Cranbrook Boulevard was closed at both ends, and a car was seen partially submerged in the street. Freshwater Boulevard was closed in front of Costco, as Freshwater Brook overflowed its banks and crept up near the outdoor dining area at Hot Table Panini.

Many residents reported basement floods via social media.
