Inaugural Kid's Bike Rodeo Slated For Enfield Town Hall Grounds This Weekend

The Kiwanis Club of Greater Enfield is hosting a free, fun-filled event focused on bicycle safety and riding techniques.

ENFIELD, CT — A rejuvenated Kiwanis Club of Greater Enfield has resumed its mission of serving children, and is sponsoring a free, fun, hands-on event this weekend focused on bicycle safety and riding techniques.

The inaugural Kid's Bike Rodeo is salted for Saturday, Sept. 6 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. behind Enfield Town Hall, adjacent to the town green. Rain date is Sunday, Sept. 7.

interactive stations will include safety training, an obstacle course and helmet fittings. Members of the Enfield police and fire departments will be on hand to assist youngsters.

Bike decorating and bike washing stations will be set up, and raffles will be conducted for new bicycles, generously donated by the Enfield Rotary Club and Enfield Food Shelf.

Courses are designed for children aged toddler to 13 years, but younger and older children are also welcome.

Incoming Kiwanis Club president Sharren Zetterholm told Patch, "We are excited about bringing Kiwanis back to the Enfield area, and we appreciate how the community has partnered with us. We look forward to developing some great student leadership programs."
