ENFIELD, CT — Enfield's animal control department is investigating the situation of a pit bull dog found in town that may have been abandoned after being hurt.

The Enfield Animal Control Department said Wednesday the female dog may have been abandoned in Enfield after sustaining injuries.

"She is a pit-bull terrier, approximately 3-4 years of age, and has sustained several puncture wounds to the face and head," wrote Enfield Animal Control.

Enfield officials said the dog was treated at a veterinary hospital and has since been released.

If the owner cannot be identified, this pup will be up for adoption in the near future.
