Major Enfield Road Race To Impact Traffic This Weekend
The annual 'Outrun Addiction' event will cause multiple roads to be closed in the morning, police said.
ENFIELD, CT — Motorists are being notified by police that a scheduled road race Saturday morning will impact traffic patterns in town.
The annual "Outrun Addiction Road Race" is slated for Saturday, Sept. 20, and "it will require several road closures to ensure the safety of participants and spectators."
"Outrun Addiction" is an Enfield-based nonprofit that operates road races to raise money and awareness about drug addiction.

This will be the eighth annual Enfield event, which first started in 2018.
According to the Enfield Police Department, the following road closures will happen Saturday morning from 8 to 11 a.m.:

• Moody Road will be closed between North Maple Street and Park Street.
• Park Street will be closed from Moody Road to North Street.
• North Street will be closed between Park Street and High Meadow Lane.
The EPD said trucks making deliveries to the Martin Brower distribution center on Saturday morning must use Taylor Road to access the facility.
Officers will be present throughout the race to manage traffic and help with detours.
"Please plan ahead and expect delays in the area," wrote the EPD. "We appreciate your cooperation and support for this community event."
