ENFIELD, CT —One of Enfield's most avid supporters of military veterans will be honored later this month with induction into the Connecticut Veterans Hall of Fame.

Lucien Lefevre, chairman of the Enfield Veterans Council, coordinates Enfield’s Memorial and Veterans Day parades and an annual Navy Ritual Ceremony honoring all veterans lost at sea. He also coordinates an annual Gold Star Luncheon.

As commander of the John Maciolek American Legion Post 154 since 2011, Lefevre organizes an annual Four Chaplains Mass, established a monthly program visiting veterans at Parkway Pavilion Health and Rehabilitation Center, and worked with Enfield’s leadership and Department of Public Works to oversee installation of a monument for an Enfield veteran. He also designed and supervised the placement of the Space Force flag on the Enfield Town Green and repositioning military branch flag poles.

"I am humbled and honored by this recognition," Lefevre told Patch. "There are many people that I am fortunate to have help me in my endeavors. This is their recognition too. I am always happy to serve veterans and my community."

After graduating high school, Lefevre joined the Connecticut Army National Guard in March 1969, and for 37 years. He is a retired first sergeant who served in Iraq for a year beginning in October 2004.
