Pedestrian Struck, Killed On Interstate 91 In Enfield: State Police

ENFIELD, CT — A New York man walking in a southbound lane of Interstate 91 was struck and killed by a pickup truck late Tuesday afternoon, according to state police.

The collision occurred around 5:29 p.m., when TJ Jennings, 39, of Hopewell Junction, N.Y., was struck by a 2022 Ram 5500 occupied by a driver and two passengers. Jennings had been walking in the right lane of three north of the Exit 46 on-ramp, according to a state police report.

"Jennings sustained injuries not compatible with life and was pronounced deceased at the scene," according to the report.

No injuries were sustained by the occupants of the truck, police said.

The town of Enfield issued an alert at 6:11 p.m. via its Everbridge notification system, informing motorists the southbound side of the highway would be shut down between exits 47 and 45 until around 10 p.m.
