Beethoven: Emperor Piano Concerto Coriolanus Overture Brahms: Symphony No. 1 The CHSO Twenty Third Season gets underway with some of the most eloquent and noble works of two Great Masters! Frequent CHSO Star guest performer Beth Surapine returns to fulfill a lifelong dream of performing Beethoven’s “Emperor Concerto.” The CHSO performs a reprise of a favorite performance from our first decade – Brahms First Symphony – which he worked on for twenty years in the shadow of Beethoven before allowing it to be heard – a magnificent first symphony that fittingly has been hailed as “Beethoven’s Tenth!” Ludwig van’s brooding and turbulent Coriolanus Overture – from the Shakespeare – opens the season.
