Re-elect Marie Pyznar to the Enfield Town Council

Letter to editor

I’m writing to enthusiastically recommend my friend Marie Pyznar for re-election to the Enfield Town Council.

I met Marie years ago while she was teaching CCD at St. Patrick’s Church and my kids were in class there. From the start, I knew her as a devoted mom, a tireless volunteer, and a community-minded leader. She digs into issues that matter to all of us, speaks plainly, and then follows through with action.
One moment I’ll never forget: a close friend’s young daughter, Abby, was facing a terminal illness. Abby’s wish was for 101 Dalmatians. We organized a drive—making Dalmatian-themed donation boxes at Prudence Crandall School and St. Patrick’s. Quietly, Marie told me that no matter how many we collected, she would make sure Abby had all 101. Thanks to that promise—and to Marie’s leadership as founder and chair of Children Helping Children—Abby’s wish came true.
I could call Marie a hard worker, but the truth is she’s non-stop. I’ve watched her at Enfield Republican meetings asking, “What’s next?”—pushing issues forward, following up, and keeping important matters in the spotlight.
Marie believes in fewer government mandates, careful stewardship of our fiscal budget, and welcoming new businesses to Enfield—priorities that are important to me and to many neighbors I talk to. She listens with respect and treats residents with the dignity they deserve.
There couldn’t be a more qualified person to serve on our Town Council. Let’s re-elect Marie Pyznar.
Thank you,

Gail Prettyman
