ENFIELD, CT — Enfield resident James Hoyne has announced he is seeking the position of Registrar of Voters as a write-in candidate in next Tuesday's election.

Prior to coming to Enfield, Hoyne, 31, interned at the Florida Supervisor of Elections Office, and previously ran for both Supervisor of Elections and school board positions. He has been appointed to positions on the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee and the North Central District Health Department by the Enfield Town Council.

In addition to his work in the elections field, Hoyne has held various administrative roles, including as an admin clerk in the tax assessor’s office in Hartford. He is also a member of the Connecticut Public Television’s Community Advisory Board, where he actively participates in discussions about education and community engagement.

Previous roles include legislative liaison for the A.G. Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, and advocacy chair for the Relay for Life.

"I am dedicated to ensuring transparency and accessibility in our electoral process," he said.
