Serious Crash Closes Busy Enfield Connector Road For Several Hours

ENFIELD, CT — A local man was arrested and a woman taken to an area hospital with suspected serious injuries following a two-vehicle collision which closed a segment of a busy connector road in Enfield for several hours late Monday afternoon.

The crash between a pair of sport utility vehicles occurred around 5:19 p.m. on Palomba Drive at its intersection with Cranbrook Boulevard. Both lanes on the northbound side of Palomba were closed for several hours as police conducted an investigation.

Todd Cruickshank, 25, of Enfield, was charged with operating while under the influence of alcohol/drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond was set at $20,000.

The operator of the second vehicle, a 73-year-old woman from Broad Brook, was taken to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield for treatment of her injuries, police said.

The crash remains under investigation by the Enfield Police Department Traffic Division, with assistance from the METRO Traffic Services Regional Traffic Team. Anyone with information, including dashcam footage, is asked to contact Officer Jeff Peterson at 860-763-8920.
