Serious Motorcycle Crash Closes Portion Of Busy Enfield Roadway

The road was closed for several hours Sunday as first responders worked at the scene of a serious crash.

ENFIELD, CT — A serious crash involving a motorcycle shot down a portion of a busy stretch of roadway for several hours early Sunday evening.

The crash occurred around 7:28 p.m. at the northern end of Abbe Road, at the junction of Broad Brook Road. The operator of the motorcycle, whose identity has not yet been released by police, was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Hartford with serious life-threatening injuries, police said.

The crash remains under investigation by the Enfield Police Department Traffic Division, with assistance from the METRO Traffic Services Regional Traffic Team. Anyone with information regarding the collision is asked to call Officer Kevin Ragion at 860-763-8920.
