ENFIELD, CT — What says 'autumn' more than the beloved vegetable known as squash?

The Enfield Culture and Arts Commission realizes this, so it's only natural that its latest special art exhibit is called "Art Squash Enfield."

The three-day show starts Friday, Oct. 17, with an opening reception from 6 to 9 p.m. at Thompson Hall, 4 Alden Ave., Enfield.

For those who can't (couldn't) make the reception, however, can visit the hall Saturday, Oct. 18, from 1 to 5 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 19, from 1 to 4 p.m. to take a gander at the local artwork.

What will you see? Let the Enfield Culture and Arts Commission explain, which it did on its Facebook page:

"What is Art Squash? It's a quirky, innovative local art show, featuring all original pieces which are inspired by a theme. This year's theme is...SQUASH! (in any and all forms!) Come out to support our amazing local artists, as well as several young artists from Enfield Public Schools! It's going to be an amazing night! "
