Sudden Snow Squall Keeps Enfield Police Busy With 12 Minor Crashes

ENFIELD, CT — A sudden snow squall in the early evening hours Tuesday caused a dozen minor motor vehicle crashes in a 90-minute stretch, according to police logs.

The majority of the accidents occurred in the primarily commercial districts of Hazard Avenue and Elm Street. No injuries were reported, Capt. Bryan Nolan said.

Motorists were caught off-guard by the snow squall, which began shortly before 6 p.m., and road mishaps extended through the 7:30 p.m. range. An Enfield police vehicle stopped at an accident scene was struck by another vehicle, resulting in minor damage, Nolan said.
