Townwide Christmas Light Competition Begins, Enfield Police Say
The winners will be announced on Christmas morning as part of the police-run tradition, officials say.
ENFIELD, CT — The Enfield Police Department has officially opened registration for its 7th annual Christmas Light Competition, inviting residents to showcase their holiday displays for a chance to be recognized on Christmas morning.
Entries will be accepted through December 13th at midnight. To participate, residents must include their address in the comments on the department’s Facebook post; only addresses submitted there will be considered.

Judging will take place on December 17th, beginning at 5 p.m., with special guest judges riding aboard the department’s festive "Christmas command post". Police ask that anyone entering a home that is not their own first obtain the homeowner’s permission to avoid an unexpected visit.
A full list of entries will be posted on the department’s traditional Christmas scroll, and winners will be announced Christmas morning at 9 a.m., officials say.
