ENFIELD, CT — Enfield police have announced a traffic alert associated with Saturday's Scantic Spring Splash. It is the 32nd running of the canoe and kayak race. Road closures will be in effect from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., police said. South Maple Street and Powder Hill Road will be closed and there will be no vehicle access over the Scantic Bridge, police said. Only spectators and local residents will have access to the closed areas."If you're not attending the event, please plan an alternate route to avoid delays," police said. "Make sure to plan your travel accordingly. Enjoy the event safely and thank you for your cooperation."
