U.S. Marshal Task Force Takes Enfield Shooting Suspect Into Custody

The man was wanted in connection with shots fired on Lincoln Street in early May, according to police.

ENFIELD, CT — A man wanted in connection with a shooting on Lincoln Street in May was taken into custody Thursday and faces a slew of charges in Enfield.

Dennis Rodriguez, 30, was charged with criminal attempt to commit first-degree assault, criminal possession of a firearm, carrying a pistol without a permit, first-degree reckless endangerment, criminal use of a firearm, illegal discharge of a firearm, first-degree criminal trespass and second-degree breach of peace. Bond was set at $300,000.

Members of the U.S. Marshal Service Fugitive Task Force were assisted by the Connecticut State Police Emergency Services Unit and the Central Region SWAT Team in taking Rodriguez into custody in Bristol.

On May 5 around 5:38 a.m., police were dispatched to Lincoln Street at Alden Avenue upon a report of shots being fired. Four people, including three males, were detained for an investigation, which revealed a man, known to the victim, had entered a home in the area and later exchanged gunfire with the residents, Police Chief Alaric Fox said.

One prior arrest had been made in the case.
