Visions For Vacancies: Readers Sound Off On This Enfield Business Site
We asked our readers what type of business they would like to see in this available space in Enfield, and suggestions came in droves.

ENFIELD, CT — Last week, Enfield Patch asked readers what type of business they would like to see in a vacant commercial site at 40-46 High Street. A number of suggestions were offered, including a cat cafe, vendor renting space, a non-chain restaurant, shoe repair, bait shop, ice cream and greenworks equipment.
Among the dozens of comments were:
- "It would be nice to see a business that would possibly cater to the kids and teens. I've been here my entire life and the closest we've had was the Roller World/Studio New York. They have nothing as always. Woods are gone, movies are gone, mall is gone. Who knows, maybe when they decide to start on the train station, the whole vibe may change. Just please, no more chain restaurants."
- "Perhaps a non-chain restaurant? We need better options!!"
- "It's simply not a business spot. It's a horrible location and there's bums everywhere. A bakery stands the best chance as you have the new Mi Cultura restaurant steps away and there isn't any bakeries nearby."
- "Maybe housing would be a better use of the property."
