A Vote for Our Future: Why I’m Supporting Roberta “Bobbie” Kiner for Enfield’s Board of Education

My name is Janet (Cannone) Hagist. I am a lifelong resident of Enfield and a graduate of the Enfield Public School system. I am writing to endorse and express my support for my longtime friend, Roberta “Bobbie” Kiner, for the Enfield Board of Education.

I have known Bobbie since the early 80s, when we were both members of the Enfield Junior Woman's Club, a civic organization we were proud to be a part of for years. The Kiner family has a long history of community and state commitment which continues to this day.

Though our town has greatly changed over the years, we share a common goal: a safe community and school system with opportunities we can all be proud of.

With an extensive background in education, I know Bobbie will be a powerful advocate for Enfield students and families. With her honesty, transparency, and commitment to education, Bobbie has a strong understanding of children and the support they need to live productive and successful lives.

Bobbie believes proper funding is essential for a school system to thrive. However, she also recognizes the need to find a balance between that funding and what taxpayers can afford, protecting essential services while working toward our shared goal.

The children of Enfield are the future of our community. We must provide our students with the same opportunities as those in neighboring towns across our state. This requires us to invest in programs, resources, and staff, not cut them. Through bipartisan cooperation, we can provide children and teachers with the support and understanding they deserve.

We understand that every issue has different perspectives. Bobbie is committed to partnering with leaders from all sides, along with parents and taxpayers, to collectively restore, protect, and create opportunities for our students and schools. I am confident Bobbie will work tirelessly to achieve these goals and invest fully in our community. She understands what is at stake and will be a strong advocate for her constituents.
