- Celebrate National Vietnam War Veterans Day! Join American Legion Post 97 today at 2 p.m. at the Chester War Memorial. A march from Apple Rehab parking lot to the memorial will include an all veteran Muster. Hope to see you there! (Town of Essex – Government via Facebook)
- The Essex Eggstravaganza Egg Hunt will be taking place today, rain or shine but it has been tweaked. Prior to the hunt, join the Essex Bunny at Essex Town Hall Auditorium for story time with the Essex Library at 9:30. In addition to story time you will have an opportunity to meet the Easter Bunny. We are so excited to also be able to host a photo station thanks to Celebrate on the Shore! So bring your cameras. The egg hunt will be held in the Town Hall auditorium and there will be two different arrival times. 10:00 a.m. - Arrival time for families with children who are age 4 and under Beginning at 10:00 a.m. there will be two separate hunts one for children 0-2, followed by a hunt for children ages 3-4. 10:30 a.m. - Arrival time for families with children ages 5 and up. Beginning around 10:30 a.m. will be two separate hunts one for children 5-6 followed by a hunt for children ages 6 and up. If attendance is low, there may be only one hunt at 10:30 a.m. so please be on time. Hope to see you there!(Essex Park and Recreation via Facebook)
- Looking for a job? The Town of Essex is presently accepting applications for a part-time position of clerk for the Retirement Board at their regularly scheduled meetings on the second Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. The position requires attendance at regularly scheduled meetings as well as special meetings when scheduled. According to the Facebook Post, "Familiarity with Freedom of Information guidelines with regard to meeting minutes and prior experience as a recording secretary is preferred. Salary for this position is expected to start at $24.02 per hour. Applications may be obtained in the Selectman’s Office Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. through 4 p.m. or on the Town of Essex Website at www.essexct.gov .
