• Walgreens to continue Connecticut store closings in 2026 (middletownpress.com) — With Walgreens closing its Old Lyme store on Jan. 27, Essex’s Walgreens will become one of the closest options for local customers who want to stay with the chain. Prescriptions from Old Lyme will transfer automatically, and affected customers can get 90 days of free delivery, but many shoreline residents may soon be driving to Essex or Westbrook for in-person pharmacy needs.
