  1. The Connecticut River Museum will have a new executive director starting December 1. According to a press release from the Middlesex Chamber of Commerce, " The Connecticut River Museum in Essex, CT appointed Elizabeth D. Kaeser as executive director. She will begin on December 1. Kaeser, a Connecticut native, was raised in West Hartford. Kaeser currently serves as the director of Institutional Giving at Eastern State Penitentiary Historic Site, a National Historic Landmark in Philadelphia. At Eastern State, she oversees a portfolio including membership, government affairs, institutional giving, annual appeals and development operations. She has nearly 20 years of experience at over a dozen museums and nonprofits, working in almost every functional area, including development, operations, strategic planning, historic interpretation, and education. She has a passion for museums that help visitors connect the past to the present through storytelling and dialogue. (Press Release Desk)
  2. Di’Angelo Jean-Pierre a Valley Regional High School senior and Valley Regional all-state football player is following in his family's footsteps. According to CT Insider, the Jean-Pierre family is synonymous with sports in the area. "Dicknorton is Di’Angelo’s father. He played on a soccer state champion team at Valley before turning to football his final two years. Chris and Ernest are Di’Angelo’s uncles. Except for the 2018 season, there has been a Jean-Pierre on the high school football team dating to 2011. This year will be the last. “With respect to the other ones who have come through, I personally think Di’Angelo is the best one out of all them,” coach Hill Gbunblee said. “He’s the perfect marriage of hard work, talent and that level of awareness to get the job done.” “I feel like I have every attribute they have, but better,” Di’Angelo said. “They know I’m definitely leaving the last big footprint for the Jean-Pierres.”'(CT Insider)
