Among them was Chester's Pattaconk Lake State Boat Launch, according to the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection. (CT Insider)
- It was a happy ending for all involved after local firefighters came to the rescue of a deer stuck in the swamp in Deep River. They responded to a call Saturday morning around 8:30 a.m. according to the NBC Connecticut news report. The deer was rescued by the firefighters, local animal control and the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, who all worked together to safely remove the animal from the swamp. According to NBC Connecticut, "after the deer was removed from the swamp, it was released in the forest across the street." (NBC Connecticut)
