- It's been quite a senior year for Valley Regional High School tri-athlete Reagan Doyon. Captain of the girls' soccer team, indoor track and girl's lacrosse, Doyon has had a busy year, that has been impactful for her, her teams and her peers. Exercising her undeniable leadership abilities Doyon has helped to lead her teams to several victories and to bring a sense of comradery and acceptance to each team. According to Zip06.com, Doyon said, "It has been interesting to be a captain for all three. It is an honor, and being chosen to be a captain means that I can take people who may be newer to a sport and create a positive environment for them to build their skill around and feel accepted. Teams can drive people away from a sport by arguing, so I like to talk things out with everyone.” (Zip06.com)
- Summer is just around the corner, and you know what that means, The Sounds of Summer, the annual Deep River Parks & Recreation summer concert series is back and loaded with talent. The season will kick off on July 6 with party rock band "Wild Nights" at Devitt Field. Mark your calendars now! Check out the complete line up here." (Deep River Parks & Rec via Facebook)
- A steadfast of Chester village is saying goodbye; The Herbery will be no more after the end of May. The shop, that out-of-town visitors and locals alike have enjoyed for decades, is closing. It will be missed. Good luck to the owners in their next chapter. (Visit Chester CT via Facebook)
