1. Would you like to learn more about the Essex Land Trust and its role in the community? On April 22 at 2 p.m. at the Essex Library, President Jeff Croyle will be presenting an overview of the ELT’s mission and accomplishments, its 2023 calendar of events and available volunteer opportunities. Established in 1968, the land trust encourages new residents and those interested to ask questions and learn more about the land trust’s preserves which covers over 650 acres across Essex’s three villages. The Middlesex Chamber of Commerce is looking for representatives from the following professions to answer student questions at the High School Career Expo at Wesleyan University on Thursday, April 27. Fostering that bond, the Essex Library will be offering a very special program in conjunction with the Connecticut Humane Society on Tuesday, April 11, at 2 p.m. at the library. Pets are a ton of fun, but they can be a lot of work! Join the Connecticut Humane Society to learn what different types of pets need to be happy and healthy and how these needs compare with our own.
