- Safe Grad is looking for volunteers. The first meeting of the 2022-23 year will be held on Thursday, September 8 at 6:30 p.m. at the Valley Regional High School Library. It will also be available via zoom http://us02web.zoom.us/j/86712.... the passcode is 488651. Parents of all VRHS students are welcome and encouraged to attend (not just seniors). Safe Gard provides a fun and safe alcohol/drug free graduation night for VRHS seniors and gives them all one last chance to hang out together as a class. For more information go to, valleysafegrad@gmail.com.
- According to a recent Facebook post from Visit Chester, the Chester Fair zero waste initiative was a big success. The team of volunteers lessened the waste produced at the fair this year and collected a 15-yard container full of flattened corrugated boxes, recyclable plastic, glass and metal. In addition, 70, 65-gallon bins of food scraps and compostable items were collected along with the capturing of more than 100 gallons of used Fryolator oil from our food vendors. Congratulations to all who volunteered and helped out. This is a fantastic start! (Visit Chester CT via Facebook)
- According to the Middletown Press, "the Nutmeg State offers a variety of after-school programs that give students a chance to learn how to do everything from creating their own video games, to cooking or dancing." Check out the list to see what fun and amazing opportunities are out there for the little ones in your family. (Middletown Press)
