  1. Carlson's Landing is no more, and, in its place, there will be a new restaurant with new owners. The new place, slated to open the week of May 15, will reportedly be called, Noah’s at 63 Main. The new owners are the owners of Eli Cannon's in Middletown, Rocco and Aubrey Lamonica, along with longtime Eli Cannon's employee Damon Dombrowski. The plan is to serve tapas, seafood, raw bar, salads and small plates along with an array of specialty cocktails. (Middletown Press)
  2. Valley Regional High School is looking for donations for the Warrior in the Community Day. The school is asking local residents to, "please consider donating bottled water and/or individually wrapped dry snacks. We need multiple snacks for every student when they volunteer and provide service to our three towns during Valley’s Community Service Day. The snacks may include but are not limited to; granola bars, protein bars, popcorn, pretzels, breakfast bars, and 'fishy' crackers, etc. All donations may be dropped off in the main office or at curbside while dropping off your student in the morning. Student volunteers will be setting up a table by the main entrance to help collect your donations." Please donate if you can! (Valley Regional High School)
  3. The Annual Esssex Town Meeting to consider the proposed $26,522,194 General Fund expenditure budget to finance the operations of the Town and Boards of Education for fiscal year 2023-2024 will be held Monday, May 8, at 7:30 p.m. in the Town Hall auditorium.
