- Deep River's electronic vehicle (EV) charging station installed in 2012 and located at the town library is reportedly no longer in working order. According to a Zip06 article, Deep River First Selectman Angus McDonald, "said he expects a formal proposal from Titan by the end of August." (Zip06)
- With federal funding in the amount of a reported $200,000 the state of Connecticut will be improving its ferry services. According to a CT Insider article, currently, "the state Department of Transportation owns and operates two seasonal ferries across the Connecticut River. One ferry goes between Rocky Hill and Glastonbury, while the other travels between Chester and Hadlyme. The funding typically goes to constructing ferry boats, terminals and ferry maintenance facilities. The funds can also go toward transit vehicles such as buses and shuttles to transport passengers, according to the Federal Highway Administration." (CT Insider)
- While reported cases of COVID-19 in the state were similar to levels from a week ago, hospitalizations continued to increase. According to an article written by Patch staffer Rich Scinto, "Connecticut reported 4,798 cases over seven days Thursday and a positive test rate of 11.75 percent. There were 4,789 cases reported in last week's report and a positive test rate of 11.79 percent.
