Police Seek Assistance In Identifying Dog, Owner Following Bite

ESSEX, CT — State police are asking for the public’s help to track down a dog they say bit someone on Friday.

Police said they want to make sure the dog is up-to-date on its vaccinations.

A dog bite can expose a person to infections and diseases such as rabies and tetanus.

Troop F in Westbrook recently posted images of a man walking the dog on its Facebook page, asking for help in identifying the man and dog.

State police are assisting the tri-town Animal Control Officer, who is investigating the incident.

It happened on Aug. 15 around 4:30 p.m. by “The Drift” / Dauntless Shipyard in Essex, police said.
