ESSEX, CT — Police are reminding Essex residents to lock their vehicles and remove all personal belongings from them after several vehicles were burglarized, and some were stolen, in the area during the overnight hours over the weekend.
Connecticut State Police Troop F in Westbrook shared the following message from Resident State Trooper Mark Roberts:
An important reminder from the Resident State Trooper and Town Officers to please lock your vehicles and remove all personal belongings from within when your vehicle is not in use. Vehicle thefts continue to happen throughout the state. These crimes occur when perpetrators seize opportunities by gaining access to unlocked vehicles with the keys left inside.
