  1. The 2nd Annual Source to Sea Cleanup will be held on Saturday, September 24th at 9 a.m. According to a Facebook post from the Town Of Essex, "Volunteers from all three villages will gather at the CT River Museum before dispersing throughout town to pick up litter for a few hours. Litter everywhere affects the health of the Falls River, Connecticut River, and Long Island Sound. Large plastics become microplastics after mowing and trampling. Microplastics on the road end up in waterways after it rains. Last year 59 volunteers collected 4055 items weighing 540 pounds in about 2 hours! Join your neighbors and friends as we clean up Essex. Register online at http://ctriver.org/cleanup . Search for "Essex 3-Villages" on the registration page. For more information visit sustainableessex.com." (Town of Essex – Government via Facebook)
