Legendary fashion icon Clinton Kelly, known for What Not to Wear and The Chew, joined the RiverLane Boutique in Essex last month for an exclusive spring styling makeover event and trunk show. Featuring the LA-based lifestyle brand Staud, the event sold out and raised $2,750 to support Dog Days Adoption Events, LLC, a local organization supporting animals in need, making it a resounding success.

“Clinton Kelly brought star power to this event to help us support local animals,” says Owner Robin Zubretsky. “It was a fun-filled, fashionable afternoon that not only showcased the latest spring styles but also allowed our community to come together for a great cause. We’re so grateful to everyone who participated and helped make a difference for animals in need.”

Two lucky guests — Jill Marie Macaluso of South Windsor, CT and Lenore Elbrecht of Napanoch, NY were randomly selected in advance to participate in the fashion show and be styled in Staud by Clinton himself. Others included Emma Boardman of Cranston, RI, Debra Boardman of Old Lyme, CT, Susan Dee of Essex, CT, and Erica Tannen, founder of The E List, a weekly newsletter about the best of the CT Shoreline.

Along with the trunk show and fashion show, Kelly delivered what he called a “style esteem seminar.” He offered his tips on how to feel good about what you’re wearing every single day.

An upcoming Dog Days Adoption event will present 30 to 50 dogs available for adoption and prevention from going to kill shelters. The RiverLane will hold the event in its parking lot June 28th and 29th from 11am – 4pm.
