2 In Stolen Car Lead Police On Wild Chase: Fairfield Police
The two were arrested after crashing in the wrong direction on the Merritt Parkway, police said.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Two Bridgeport men were arrested Thursday morning after crashing a stolen car into vehicles in multiple towns, including a wrong-way collision on the Merritt Parkway, according to Fairfield police.
Dominique Adrian Reid, 26, and Elijah Holloman, 21, were charged with larceny of a motor vehicle and interfering with an officer, after police said they both tried to run away after the Merritt Parkway crash near exit 51.
The incident began at about 9:30 a.m. when Wilton police put out a bulletin that a gray Mazda had crashed into a police car, after police tried to pull it over because the vehicle had been reported stolen. According to Fairfield police, the vehicle had been reported stolen at gunpoint in Bridgeport on Sept. 26.

"Shortly thereafter, at 9:41 AM, Fairfield Police officers spotted the Mazda traveling northbound on the Merritt Parkway near Exit 46," wrote Capt. Antonio Granata in a statement. "When officers attempted to stop it, the driver accelerated, leading officers on a pursuit."
The Mazda got off the Merritt at exit 51, where police tried to deflate the tires with stop-sticks, but the Mazda re-entered the Merritt in the wrong direction, traveling northbound in the southbound lanes.

Officers broke off the chase, but soon received a report of the wrong-way crash, in which Reid, who was driving, stuck a vehicle carrying five people.
"Multiple ambulances were requested and responded to the area," Granata said. "Fortunately, there are no serious injuries to report."
Reid and Holloman then jumped out of the crashed vehicle and ran into a nearby residential area. Holloman was quickly captured with the help of a Fairfield police K9 Officer, but Reid eluded police.
"A coordinated search for the second suspect ensued," Granata said. "Telecommunicators, officers, and detectives from Fairfield, Trumbull, Bridgeport, Wilton, Westport, Connecticut State Police (CSP), CSP Auto Theft Task Force, and area K9 units established communication, perimeters, and an investigation to locate the second suspect."
Authorities searched for Reid for two hours, but he eventually turned up in a vehicle at Fairfield Police Department Headquarters, where police said he was attempting to bond out Holloman.
In addition to the above charges, Reid was also charged with the following:
- Risk of injury (2 counts)
- Engaging police in pursuit
- Reckless driving
- Driving the wrong way (One Way Street)
Both suspects were held in lieu of bail of $100,000 each, and are scheduled to be arraigned in court on Friday.
Granata had high praise for all the members of law enforcement involved in the apprehension of the two suspects.
"Our officers confront challenges daily, often in unpredictable and high-risk circumstances, yet they consistently demonstrate exceptional courage and professionalism," Granata said. "In this event, we are fortunate that there were no serious injuries, and these dangerous suspects found responsible were arrested. Each officer involved upheld the highest principles of service, reflecting the core values of our profession. We honor their bravery, commitment, and tireless dedication to ensuring the safety and well-being of our community."
